Downtown Redevelopment Planning Charrette and Open House Scheduled for September 18th and 20th, 2007
-
Charrette - September 18th, 7:00 PM, 1912 Center
-
Open House - September 20th, 7:00 PM, 1912 Center

The Moscow Urban Renewal Agency is developing an urban renewal plan to help guide development in the downtown area. As a part of the urban renewal plan, a master plan of the old agricultural corridor along South Jackson Street will be created and your input is requested for development of ideas and a vision for this prominent area of Moscow. The Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) in addition to working on the rewrite of Moscow’s Comprehensive Plan, has been retained to produce a master plan for redevelopment of the area. The Downtown Charrette will give an opportunity for community members to explore and express ideas through sketches, photos, and words on maps of the area. KKC will then develop two alternative master plan concepts that will be available for viewing and comment at the Open House. A final master plan for the corridor will be developed from these community sessions. Click here for event Flyer
Moscow Dialogue Neighborhood Meetings to Continue on June 5th, 6th and 7th, 2007
The Moscow Dialogues will consist of a series of four meetings conducted in various sectors of the City and meant to foster neighborhood level discussion about community development and planning issues. The First series of meetings were conducted on May 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The second series are planned for June 5th, 6th and 7th. An invitation to attend these sessions has been mailed to every household within the City detailing the specific neighborhood's meeting date and location. The Dialogues discussions will be designed to produce grass roots community values from which goals, objectives and policies for a new Comprehensive Plan will be derived. Although Moscow has many neighborhoods, they are not all formally recognized or represented as individual neighborhoods with identified geographic boundaries or land use plans. More neighborhoods exist in Moscow than can readily be identified and managed individually for purposes of rewriting the Comprehensive Plan. Therefore, the Moscow Dialogues and related neighborhood discussions will be conducted loosely based on geographic sectors of the City that have been identified and used as part of the Moscow Citizen Surveys that are conducted every two years. The map below generally shows these neighborhood areas.
